What to Look for in a Dog Sitter or Boarding Provider in the East Midlands
Whether you're choosing home boarding, a licensed kennel, or a sitter who stays in your own home, it's worth checking a few key things: local authority licensing (a legal requirement for anyone boarding dogs professionally in the UK), how many dogs are cared for at once, daily routine and exercise arrangements, and how nervous or anxious dogs are settled in. Reading recent reviews from other East Midlands dog owners, and visiting in person before booking where possible, are two of the best ways to judge whether a provider is the right fit.
How Much Does Dog Boarding Cost in the East Midlands?
Pricing in the East Midlands tends to sit slightly below the UK average, particularly in more rural areas. Expect around £15–£28 per night for home boarding, and £12–£22 per day for daytime sitting, with Nottingham and Leicester city centres typically at the higher end. For more detail, see our full UK Dog Boarding Services guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find a dog sitter or boarding provider near me in the East Midlands?
Browse the county list above to see vetted providers local to your specific area.
Are dog boarding providers in the East Midlands licensed?
Anyone offering dog boarding services professionally in the UK is legally required to hold a local authority licence. Always confirm this directly before booking.
What's the difference between home boarding and kennel boarding?
Home boarding means your dog stays in a host's home, often with more one-to-one attention. Kennel boarding is a dedicated facility, which can suit dogs that prefer a more structured routine. Check each listing for which type they offer.
What if I can't find a provider in my exact town?
New providers are added regularly. In the meantime, check our full UK Dog Boarding Services page, or get in touch and we'll try to help.
