It is the result of a lifelong passion for dogs and a dream that started with one very special Bullmastiff.
The Story Behind Manor House Dogs
My name is Richard, and I have been sharing my life with Bullmastiffs for over 15 years.
My journey began with my first Bullmastiff, Biggie.
Biggie was not just my dog. He was my best friend, my companion, and a huge part of my life. At the time, I worked as a landscape gardener, and Biggie came to work with me every day. He became a familiar sight around the local community, sitting proudly in the van window wearing his sunglasses and bringing smiles to countless people he met.
Anyone who knew Biggie knew what a gentle giant he was.
Over the years, we built a large social media following, attended dog shows together, and won numerous awards including Best in Show and First Place Obedience competitions. One of my proudest moments was seeing him featured on the front page of local newspapers after training him myself.
Sadly, shortly after his seventh birthday, we received devastating news. Biggie had tumours on his spleen, and we had to say goodbye.
Losing him was one of the hardest experiences of my life.
I didn't just lose a dog that day. I lost my best friend.
Finding Purpose Through Dogs
After losing Biggie, there was a huge void in my life.
Dogs had become such an important part of my happiness that I found myself visiting local dog parks simply to be around other dogs. I would sit on a bench hoping a friendly dog would come over and say hello.
During this difficult time, I turned to dog videos online because they helped me feel connected to the memories I shared with Biggie. It was then that I realised how much comfort dogs can bring to people during challenging times.
Eventually, I welcomed another Bullmastiff into my life—a beautiful female called Cali.
With Cali, I began documenting our adventures, training sessions, and everyday life on YouTube and social media. My goal was simple: to share the joy that dogs bring into our lives and hopefully help others who may be experiencing loneliness, grief, or difficult times.
Building a Community
Before Biggie passed away, we had stored his frozen sperm with the hope that one day his legacy could continue.
When Cali reached maturity, we attempted to use it, but unfortunately the breeding was unsuccessful. Although we never got the puppies we had hoped for, I still wanted to honour the promise I had made to Biggie and continue sharing the love and companionship that dogs bring into people's lives.
A year later, Cali successfully had a healthy litter of beautiful Bullmastiff puppies, all documented on our YouTube journey. Many of the puppies went to families who had previously lost Bullmastiffs of their own, which made the experience even more meaningful.
Today, I share my life with Cali and four of her puppies, creating content, making memories, and continuing to build a community of dog lovers who understand just how important our dogs are to us.
Why Manor House Dogs Exists
As our community grew, so did my vision.
I wanted to create something bigger than social media.
I wanted to build a platform that could support dog owners, promote quality dog businesses, and bring together people who share the same passion for dogs.
That vision became Manor House Dogs.

Looking Towards the Future
My long-term dream goes beyond building a successful directory.
One day, I hope to create a dedicated space where dog lovers can come together, celebrate the lives of their dogs, and find support during difficult times.
My vision includes a specialist dog crematorium, a memorial space filled with photographs and stories of beloved dogs, a dog-friendly café, grooming facilities, rescue services, and a place where people can connect with others who understand the unique bond between humans and dogs.
The goal is simple:
To create a community where no dog owner feels alone when facing the joys, challenges, and heartbreaks that come with loving a dog.
